LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Free Theatre will present An Evening of Poetry and Jazz with vocalist Sharon Paige, poet Tom Lisenbee and guitarist Ethan Mann on Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Paige got her first taste of performing with a professional stock company as a teenager. Currently, she is a therapist working with children and adults with learning disabilities. Her 2008 CD release, “Love Is the Thing,” won the 2008 John Hoglund Cabaret Hot Line on Line Award for Best American Standard CD. Lisenbee is a former musician (including 17 years as principal trumpet for the New York City Opera) who now writes poetry and fiction. Mann, says Prof. Rodney Jones of the Manhattan School of Music, is “one of the keepers of the flame of jazz guitar.”
Admission is free. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended. The audience is invited to gather after the performance for food, drink and music. The theatre is located at 109 South Main Street, Liberty. Call 845/292-3788.
