The Literary Gazette accepting submissions

REGION — The Literary Gazette, published annually by The River Reporter, is looking for submissions to its 2011 issue. This issue will explore dreams and dreamwork as material for writers and artists, and is inviting writers to submit poems, stories and essays born out of or inspired by dreams (i.e. sleep dreams as opposed to daydreams or “goals”). The Gazette accepts all styles and formats. Poems are limited to 50 lines and stories and essays no longer than 700 words. Please include a short (limit 50 words) bio with your submission.

The editorial deadline is Friday, June 3. Submit word documents to marygreene@riverreporter.com or hard copies to Literary Gazette, PO Box 150, Narrowsburg, NY 12764. There is no reading fee, and there is a limit of five entries per person. Entries cannot be returned. Writers selected for publication will receive three contributors’ copies of the publication.

The issue will also feature photographs by well known Milford photographer Norma Bernstock, who has created luscious, dreamlike photographs using a special process with Polaroid film. Since Polaroid film is no longer being produced, her photos have taken on a historical as well as artistic significance.

The Literary Gazette will be published in July, and will remain on newsstands through the summer and fall. It will also appear online. For inquiries email editor Mary Greene at the above email address or call 845/252-7414, ext. 30.
