ELLENVILLE, NY — Shivers will permeate Shadowland Stages on Saturday, October 28 at 8 p.m., as the non-profit Actors’ Equity theatre produces “Terror at the Mike,” two on-stage recreations of vintage radio thrillers. First up is an episode of “The New Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes” titled “The Speckled Band,” based on the original story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. After intermission, the Ray Bradbury story “The Screaming Woman,” as adapted for radio’s long-running series “Suspense,” will tell the tale of a little girl who believes she hears a woman who has been buried alive.

Each radio drama will be performed in original fashion in front of microphones with transcribed music and live sound effects. The evening of aural entertainment will include commercials for Ellenville area sponsors. The evening of radio thrills is produced and directed by Shadowland Stages board member Ray Faiola.

Sponsors for “Terror at the Mike” include A-Rod’s Barber Shop, Aroma Thyme Bistro, City Girl Cakery, The French Corner, Matthews Pharmacy, and Thornton Inc.

Tickets cost $15 each and can be purchased at the Shadowland Box Office, 157 Canal St., or by phone at 845/647-5511.
