SUNY auditions: 'Angels in America'
LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — The SUNY Sullivan Theater Program will hold auditions for “Angels in America: Millenium Approaches,” by Tony Kushner on Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Seelig Theater, located at 112 College Rd. Those interested in auditioning should e-mail the director, Nick López, for an appointment at firstname.lastname@example.org. Drop-ins are also permitted. Callbacks will occur, if needed.
Actors will be asked to fill out an audition form, and if possible, to attach a resume and headshot. Additionally, attendees should bring their personal calendars or schedules to the auditions. The audition will consist of reading excerpts from the play. You may asked to read individually, but actors will most likely read with others. Scripts are available and can be secured in advance by emailing the director.
Rehearsals begin on February 28 and will be held Tuesdays through Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. A rehearsal calendar will be developed based around the actors’ schedule conflicts. Technical rehearsals are scheduled for Saturday, April 28 from 5 to 11 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Performance dates are May 3 through 13, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
The production is also looking for participants interested in serving as technical crew, stage management, designers, and musicians, and are invited attend the auditions to meet the director, or contact him via email.
