HONESDALE, PA — What do pumpkins, monsters, ex-girlfriends, frogs and robots have in common? They all play a role in the collection of short spooky movies slotted for this year’s Spookyfest at The Cooperage on Saturday, October 21 at 8 p.m. The festival is a chance to enjoy a diverse selection of original shorts (all seven minutes or shorter) made by filmmakers from Honesdale, the surrounding region and the world. Immerse yourself in the Halloween spirit, eat delicious popcorn, and talk about movies with your neighbors. Costumes are encouraged.
After viewing all of the 22 short films, audience members will be invited to vote for their favorites. Winning movies will receive Spooky Awards (“Spookies”) at a closing awards ceremony.
Tickets cost $20 at the door or $15 in advance. Advance tickets are available at Loose Leaf Pages in Honesdale during business hours and until 12 noon on Saturday. For more information, visit canaltown552.com or email info@cana ltown552.com.
