JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Jeffersonville Founder’s Day Oktoberfest is a celebration of Jeffersonville’s German and Swiss Heritage, slated this year for October 8 starting at 11 a.m. Main Street Jeffersonville will be packed with artisan vendors, and there will be live music from 1 to 5 p.m. with the John Steven’s Doubleshot Polka Band and German and Swiss food and treats served at Main Street restaurants. New this year is the Winkelried Biergarten at the Tavern on Main.

There will also be a series of entertaining events to participate in, starting at 12 noon with a hot-dog-eating contest, and including a tug-of-war at 2 p.m. and, at 4 p.m., a BYOB (Build Your Own Boat) race. Hilarity is bound to ensue when each team takes its mark at the starting line in the Mill Pond. The themed boats are very impressive on land but... will they float?... which one will win?

Ongoing activities will include horse and carriage rides, pony rides, bungee trampolines, a rock-climbing wall, alpacas and more. For more information visit JeffersonvilleNY.com/Oktoberfest, email JeffFounders Day@gmail.com or call 845/482-5688.
