LIBERTY, NY — Santa Claus will arrive at the New Munson Diner on Lake Street, riding in a one-horse open carriage, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 23. As part of the New Munson Diner’s grand opening celebration, Jolly Saint Nick and his trusty steed will trot down Main Street and continue up Lake Street to greet children and adults alike. Parents will be able to capture phone photos of their children with Santa and the gentle horse, free of charge.
In addition, the diner will be providing free cups of soup to adults and free hot chocolate to the kids, while supplies last. The children who attend will also be able to meet and greet the semi-retired racehorse and his trainer from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
The Standardbred horse will be provided by the James Doherty, Jr. Stable of the Monticello Harness Horsemen’s Association. The carriage is on loan courtesy of the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY.
