CALLICOON, NY — Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and Callicoon Theater will present writer/ director Greta Gerwig’s “Lady Bird,” starting on February 9.

The film stars Saoirse Ronan (“Brooklyn”) and Laurie Metcalf (best known from “The Big Bang Theory” and “Roseanne”). An outspoken teen (Ronan) must navigate a loving but turbulent relationship with her strong-willed mother (Metcalf), over the course of an eventful and poignant senior year of high school. “Big-screen perfection,” says AO Scott in The New York Times. “You will almost certainly love it. It’s hard not to.” This is Gerwig’s solo directorial debut.

“Lady Bird” won Golden Globes for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Best Actress (Saoirse Ronan), and is nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. Gerwig is just the fifth woman to be recognized with an Oscar nomination for Best Director. “Lady Bird” is rated R and will screen Friday, February 9 through Monday, February 12, nightly at 7:30 p.m., with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
