Art takes over town at Callicoon ArtWalk

CALLICOON, NY — During the fourth annual Callicoon ArtWalk on Saturday, October 7 more than 90 artists will present their work throughout the town. Main Street merchants will stay open into the evening hours, and pop-up galleries will show up in businesses including Bllaq, Cafe Adella Dori, Callicoon Brewing Co., Callicoon Real Estate, Callicoon Wine Merchant, Freda Real Estate, Nine River Road, Riverside Remedies, Western Hotel and Willow Wisp Store.

In addition to Art Making in the Park workshops, described in last week’s issue (www.riverreporter.com/arts-leisure-arts-leisure-stories/take-workshop-callicoon-artwalk), there will be live music on Main Street, nighttime outdoor video projections and the Callicoon ArtWalk Short-Shorts Film Festival at the Callicoon Theater. Scott Klee Clark opening his studio to the public, Gallery 35 will have an exhibit of portraits and Johanna Spoerri will be creating portraits the day of the event for a small fee. Dan Brinkerhoff’s new mobile stage, The Poison Love Mobile, will make its public debut in Callicoon Creek Park. There will be puppet shows in the park at 1:30 and 2 p.m., “The Art of Fly Tying” with Catskill John at the library and live music on the balcony at 39 Main St. including musicians Joshua Tree, Cody Melville, Banjo Don and Little Sparrow. Raina Bowers’ Fire Dance will close out the day’s events at 7:30 p.m.
