Winners of CAS High School Art Show announced

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Winners of the CAS Sullivan County High School Art Show, currently on display at the CAS Center, have been announced. First and second prize winners were selected by an outside jury panel of artists and experts. Students were invited to the Arts Center to select a Student Prize award in each category as well.

Conservation groups plan Earth Day rally for 'sensible' Delaware River water plan

A coalition of conservation groups will hold an Earth Day rally in the Catskills on Friday, April 22, in support of a what they call a sensible alternative to the upper Delaware River reservoir water-release plan, that the groups say has had negative environmental consequences.  Read more

Barryville’s artisan fair seeks vendors

BARRYVILLE, NY — BrookHouse Gallery is still accepting applications for vendors for its artisan fair this summer. It is looking for quality hand-made crafts, fine art, outdoor garden sculpture and hand-crafted furniture. The deadline for vendor application is May 1.

Scout exhibit opens in Honesdale

HONESDALE, PA — As Honesdale’s Troop 1 celebrates its 100th anniversary, a flag and bugle ceremony on the steps of the Wayne County Historical Society, 810 Main St., will open a special exhibit at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, followed by an open house from 4 to 7 p.m., with refreshments and free museum admission.  Read more

Foods of the Delaware supports land protection

Local band to play NYC contest

NEW YORK CITY — The Livingston Manor band MAZMYTH has taken first prize in the Break Contest, a battle of the bands sponsored by the organizers of Bamboozle. The contest was held at the Chance in Poughkeepsie starting in February. As first-prize winners, MAZMYTH will play in the championship round on April 23 at Gramercy Theater in NYC. Four members of the band—Matt Smith, Steven Freitas, Dan Smith and Jordan Dumond—attended Livingston Manor Central School.
